Calvary Baptist Church is continuing its support of the Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry in 2022 and the Calvary Shoebox Team is working hard to make sure we have all the items we need for the 300 boxes to be packed on behalf of the church. We want to thank all the members of the church and members of our community so much for the generosity you have shown throughout the year with your donations to the shoebox ministry!
We are still in need of small stuffed animals and toys for the boxes. A collection box has been setup in the vestibule for any items you would like to donate. If you are not members of the church and want to donate, please contact the church secretary at 434-993-3128 for information on how to drop off donations.
We are also in need of support with the shipping costs for the boxes. The cost per box is $10.00, up from $9.00 last year. The $10.00 includes the cost of the gospel materials that are included with each shoebox by Samaritan’s Purse, and the cost to ship the box around the globe. The total cost for shipping 300 boxes is $3,000.00 and the church has only budgeted $1,000.00 towards this cost. We have received $710.00 in donations designated for shipping thus far, leaving a balance of $1,290.00 needing to be raised to meet our goal of sending out 300 boxes. The Calvary Shoebox Team will be packing the 300 church sponsored shoeboxes the first week of November. Any items, including money for donation, will need to be turned in by Sunday, October 30th, 2022 at the latest.
The last day to turn in individual shoeboxes (not those sponsored by the church), is Sunday, November 13th, 2022.
