Calvary Baptist Church has introduced a new outreach ministry program that aims to help caffeinate your day while providing the opportunity for fellowship and evangelism with the introduction of Coffee Tuesdays.
Spearheaded by Kim Martin and supported by multiple volunteers from the Calvary Baptist Church membership, the Coffee Tuesday’s program officially started on Tuesday April 25th, and is set to occur every Tuesday morning from 7:30am to 9:00am. The outreach program provides free cups of coffee to visitors, either through a drive through “grab and go” method, or by coming into the fellowship hall with the opportunity to sit and converse with others.
I had an opportunity to meet with Kim this Sunday morning to ask how that first Coffee Tuesday morning went, to which she indicated that there was a small turnout for the first morning, but that she hopes that with increased community knowledge of the event and with the introduction of some new banners at the front of the church, that more people will learn of Coffee Tuesdays and start making they way through. She also stated a desire to have more social sharing of the event and hopes that members of the Church will be helpful in sharing with their friends and family that the Coffee Tuesday’s event exists.
Coffee Tuesday’s presents Calvary Baptist with the unique opportunity to reach the community through a shared passion, or possibly a shared need, of that cup of morning coffee. The plan is to include small bags with each cup of coffee passed out to include information about the Gospel of Jesus, information about Calvary Baptist and an invitation to join Sunday services.
All Church members, visitors and members of the community are invited to stop in on Tuesday mornings between 7:30am and 9:00am to get a free cup of coffee and if you have time, come on into the fellowship hall and enjoy some conversation and fellowship. Bring your friends, family, and coworkers, and enjoy some time together over free coffee.
Coffee Tuesdays are every Tuesday morning at Calvary Baptist Church, 9388 Village Hwy, Concord, VA right across from Concord Elementary School from 7:30am to 9:00am.
